interesting things to do to enjoy your cham?

Are there any enrichment things you can offer? Can just lounges on this one branch all day. I know that’s common chameleon behavior but I want to get him up and moving more

Breeder Care vs Keeper Care: Is there a difference?

...systems. However, I feel for the animals kept that way…what a boring crappy life they have. The lucky few get maybe a fake flower for ‘enrichment’ and a small rock to help them shed like Snake Discovery does. The bulk though are on paper with a water bowl in just enough space to move a...

Who said anything about an enclosure? It's a nice place for a cham to park while enclosure is being tended, or just some different scenery (enrichment) for an hour or three... ;)

How do i change into a new enclosure?

Wow, I just answered this. Had to check if it was a duplicate poster (it isn't). https://www.chameleonforums.com/threads/handling-question.185056/#post-1703483 If you work calmly and slowly, you will not stress him out too much. ;) He'll probably enjoy the enrichment.

    All Worm Diet?

...ANYTHING . They also turn to flys so unfed options turn to an flying buffet (the nutritional value of the flys is much lower but is good enrichment for your Cham.) Downsides are they get super powers when wet, and they seem to be harder to digest. Many keepers myself included find bsfl that...

    Face injury still not eating

Chameleons are lazy and as long as he is getting enough to eat by force feeding he probably won't bother to eat on his own. You will eventually need to wean him off of feedings to get him hungry enough to feed himself. You have a tough call to make as to how long to skip feedings because he is...

...near about anything. The reason we feed BSFL is for variety and their high calcium rate. I don't gutload mine at all, they tend to get stinky if you do that. I feed them off, let them turn to flies then feed off for enrichment, and always add a few extra to my compost bin to help with composting.

Supplements: Repashy calcium plus with his morning and evening crickets, Reptivite with D3 (2x per...

interesting things to do to enjoy your cham?

So can I just catch moths from outside? I disagree he crawls onto me to chill. Sometimes he won’t go back on the branch he’ll just hang out on my hand and I’m like hug. The guitar head doesn’t vibrate, it’s really the body that vibrates. And they lack an external ear so it’s hard for them to...

...some time hunting them down. My male veiled got a bit chunky from all of his snacks, but the others do just fine and I think it’s nice enrichment for them. At least one of my girls, who previously used a standard lay bin, didn’t find her bioactive substrate suitable to lay her eggs in. Out of...

    Enrichment!

Hi all! I was just wondering about pet enrichment. Other reptiles and animals can have toys or learn tricks but just for a chameleon it can get a little boring! Is there any way to provide enrichment for our friends other by providing a wide variety of foods? Every time I do a major cleaning...

Why Chameleon Keepers Should Embrace Naturalistic Enclosures

...those stages. We are able to routinely keep chameleons long term and to their old age. Now it is time for us to enter into the stage of enrichment. This is where we make naturalistic enclosures and create environments that our chameleons can thrive in physically, mentally, and emotionally...
