    Setting up Enclosure

Since I have double wide bioactive enclosures, I use heavy duty garage style shelving units (Edsel muscle racks). Before doing all of that, I had gotten the ReptiBreeze stands, which worked very well with the ReptiBreezes. For a short time, I had an enclosure sitting on a card table.

Anyone Have a Picture of a Relaxed Non-Gravid Female Carpet Chameleon?

I have her in a 24x24x24 glass with bioactive bottom to maintain humidity. Our winters are dry here. She does well. Yes bigger is better though. 😄

    Urine smell

Is it normal for my Veiled habitat to always smell of urine? I did go bioactive with soil, drain rock, magnolia leaves isopods, springtails ect it seems most of the urine and or poop never makes it to the floor. Habitat is dense and thick with plants so usually just falls on the leaves it seems.

    New chameleon owner!

...simple, so I didn’t have to move many plants around. There have been times when I’ve needed to do a bigger thing and I grab a small flashlight and go in at night in the dark when my chameleon is asleep. Even though I switched to bioactive a while ago, I still do big changes at night in the...

Pros and Cons of going Bioactive?

Debating on switching over to bioactive after an infestation of fungus gnats. What are the most important reasons for switching other than cleaning? Is bioactive possible and easily done in a screen enclosure? I feel like I've seen mostly glass for bioactive. Does the CUC ever get out? How long...

    Tips on hibiscus

What I use for fertilizer is the frass from my insects…silkworms mainly, although I have also used frass from superworms. I have a hibiscus in one of my enclosures and up until she’s gotten old, the biggest threat to its health was being eaten to the nub by my veiled girl. Also, I accidentally...

There's got to be a trick to finding poop, right?

Any loose bugs in the cage? My clean up crews(isopods/millipedes/springtails) would delete poop within hours, but you don’t have bioactives…. Roaches/crickets/etc will happily eat chameleon poop too

    US Custom large enclosure.

Oh no quite the opposite! The enclosure is amazing, but I’m considering going down to 18x36 enclosures for the adults, and bioactive. I have limited space, so this would allow me to fit a trio and 10 baby cages all in the same footprint that this cage takes. It’s going well, I’ll go do an...

    Maybe sick or I’m exaggerating?

Yes! You can make it bioactive, they make trays to hold drainage layer. The enclosure you looked at could also work if the top is screened. It doesn’t look it but it may be me assuming because the lights are affixed inside the enclosure. But size wise it could work with proper airflow and...

    Where do I even start?!

...looking at a hybrid set up so not entirely mesh but mostly as I’d like to do a diy background like I have for my gecko. I also want to do bioactive. My problem is, there’s so much conflicting information online about everything. I’ve had a look through chameleon academy online also and...

    Completed first chameleon enclosure!!!!!!

Looks great! More branches and plants definitely…make a nice little forest or jungle. Just have to put it out there - have you thought about setting it up bioactively? It would be a bit more work and fussing over, but it’s easier to do than it seems. Btw, I love the artwork on the side. 💗
