Anyone have it for you chameleons? Do you like it?

I've been trying to look stuff up online, but I'm not getting a whole lot about exotics...

Edit: oh yeah, and is is expensive?

I do!!!! I like it but it is hard to find a herp vet who will honor my insurance. Mine is through PET ASSURE. The last vet would not honor my insurance, and there are very few vets in my area that know "spit" about chameleons.

One of the vets I called in Cincinnati had his information so wrong he told me veileds in captivity are lucky to have a cluch of 10 eggs. Right away that was a red flag for me. Now I drive an hour North to Columbus, Ohio and they take my insurance.

Years ago when I looked into pet insurance for my dogs, I found there were a lot of hoops to jump through. I figured it would be better for me to put away money every month, instead of making payments to the insurance company. I wouldn't even consider it for any of my exotics.

I pay $4.62 a month for it and it covers all my pets. It saves me a lot of $ and pays for itself for sure. Especially because we have 2 cats and 3 dogs that go in regularly.

Wow, is that per chameleon? That's certainly affordable. :)

No not for just 1 chameleon, but for any pet I take in. It is just many herp vets will not honor it, so what every insurance you consider call your vet to make sure they take it.

So you get 25% off all the visits and what not? That certanly sounds good to me :) I've got a lot of 'exotics' so I'll have to call my the vets that I use and check. thanks

Yes, that is correct 25% off all visits. Just check with your vet first before purchasing anything to make sure they honor it. After the Dr. sees us, we go to the counter and pay and show them the card and they just deduct the 25% off the bill.

Wow! Much better and cheaper than the crappy pet insurance we have here!

Lol, but your right some of them are a total scam. I find I save money mostly on the dogs and cats, because they have to go the the vet more regularly and that adds up. It is still nice if I have to take an exotic in because the bill is 25% less than I would usually pay.
