He is not quite 10 months old. Do you think he is average size for that age? I have never weighed him but he is long! What type of scale do I get for than?

He is sleeping now so I cant measure him. I think he is about 7 1/2- 8 inches or so from his snout to his vent the last time I measured him. I don't know his whole length with the tail. I want to weigh him. I asked before, What type of scale do you use and where to you get one? Can anyone help me on this? Thank you.

He has nice coloration to him for being 10 months...congrats!! You can get a small scale to measure in grams and u can easily buy one at publix or walmart.

I have a sambava male too and he is pretty long i measured him at being almost 20 inches long....

If you get a scale for weighing out food (e.g. portion sizes) that will measure in grams (as they said, you could get one at Walmart or Target or such a place) you might be able to just set him on it and weigh him or, if he doesn't want to sit still just on the scale, you can find a small stick or branch for him to clutch, and weigh the branch with and without him to get his weight.
He's handsome (and looks very long, especially in that first shot where we see the whole tail)!

Hi Carol, he is looking awesome! When you buy a scale the bigger it is the better. I find it more and more difficult to weigh Leo on mine, which is getting to be too small as he gets bigger. What I did is glue a stick on top of a plastic container. I just put this on the scale and tare it, and then add him on top. He has to stay in the center or it will tip, and that's where a bigger scale would help. I'm sure you can figure it out! I'm also interested in knowing his weight, and maybe you could weigh him weekly, that's what I've been doing.

ok thanks for the tip Radstusky! I am definitely going to get that scale! I said it before and then I just forgot. I saw a kitchen scale at a friends house but it did not say grams on it. Do you have to convert the weight into grams or are there scales that they sell at walmart(which someone suggested) show the weight in grams?.

You should be able to find one in grams so you don't have to convert it, and of course a digital one would be better too.

What a gorgeous guy!:)

For a scale you could try LSS.com/labsupplies
They carry a good portable/battery op that weighs up to 2000g for 63.70 + S&H. It is an OHAUS, has a the standard weigh plate that you can fit tupperware on to hold your guy. Actually, what I used was a big plastic plant saucer.
