can mosquitoes be used as a feeder item for baby chams ? I can find no info on them - I am sure they would not be much "meat" - but just something different to change up the menu - and advice ?

thanks :)

I wouldn't since they're popular for being a disease carrier.

I guess I should have added- they are not hatched yet- the larva are from a 5 gal pail I put out just to get them ( I feed them to my fish, but when they don't eat them all, I get mosquito all over the top of the tank - )

me too :) they are never "wild" so to speak :p so I know they have never bitten anything and ate blood

O.K., so you already have thought about how to gutload them. As larvae you can put some spirolina and some kelp, and for the adults...

Boy, you really do live out in the woods don't you :D;).

I'm ok with crickets and superworms loose in the house, but the idea of intentionally having mosquitoes inside makes me quite itchy! Interesting idea, and I'm interested in what others have to say on the topic as well. Maybe instead of feeding them to your baby chams you could get a bat box, or a purple martin box for your extra mosquitoes?
