Is it possible for a 6 month old female chameleon to lay eggs?

My female panther chameleon about 6-7 months old and it scratches at its cage a lot whenever I open the cage she runs out to me on my arm any ideas on what could be wrong with her? I also saw her dig in the corner and scratching in the corner??
