Maybe Gravid
I had this same problem with my female veiled when she was around 7 months old and she ended up being gravid. I put a bucket in her cage 14 inches high by 12 diameter and filled it with kids play sand. Once I covered the cage and left her for a while she dug and layer her eggs...
I have a 12X12X12 bin full of sand. I actually pre dug a a hole and put towels around the cage. When I peaked around the corner she was digging the hole!
My female veiled has layer three eggs today. I have a bin with sand in her cage but she layer the eggs on the bottom of the cage and on top of the sand. Any thoughts? Also she hasn't been with a male so I'm unsure of how many infertile eggs she may have.
Nothing has changed for her heat wise or food wise. I'll try some worms today but she usually loves crickets. I have noticed that she's drinking more water too.
Still Nothing
So I've had a 15" bucket full of sand in her cage and still nothing. I moved her to a quiet room and she seems to be happy. Super bright green all the time. Ah other suggestions?
Laying bin
I'm going to try a different bin. She hasn't laid eggs before. Here's a picture of her. She sometime looks plump but other times looks normal.
Hi, my female veiled is about a year old and hasn't been eating her crickets for the past three days. She usually eats them right away. Could this mean she's gravid? She's been changing from light to dark a lot during the day.
Bird cage feeder
I use this for my veileds worms. Crickets jump out but then worms can't. She knows that food is being put in there every morning. $1.99 at most pet stores. Just hook it on the cage.
Just wondering if a 24X24X48 terranium is big enough for my female veiled. She's only 6 months old now but I want to get a new enclosure for her and I want it to be the last size I need. Any help would be great. Thanks.
Just want to throw this out there. I recently bought a new plant for my enclosure and my veiled started going to the soil area along the plastic and sleeps there. She's five months old and just started doing this once I put the plant in. Is it bad for her to be sleeping at the bottom?
