My 4 months old chameleon just did a poop, but before it came out there was a load (quite a large amount) of mucusy stuff...
Everything else looked ok, chocolate brown poop and white urate.
This anything to be worried about?
Hello,
My 3.5month old panther chameleon is now eating dubia roaches as his main food.
How many should he be eating per day? At the moment I put in 15 small ones and he devours them within 5 minutes.
Is this amount sufficient?
My chameleon showed no interest in crickets so i tried him on dubia roaches...well he can't get enough of them. I've decided to use them as his staple diet. They aren't as cheap as crickets so i have started a colony.
I just have a few questions if you could help me out a bit.
First of...
Little update.
I ordered some small crickets as I think the medium ones were a little on the big side.
In with the crickets was a small mealworm so i decided to try him out with it. As soon as I put it near him he instantly ate it.
Still won't touch his crickets though.

Sorry for yet another thread but I was wondering something today as I looked at my chameleon.
Where his basking light is, and where he sits, I'm not sure the UV bulbs from the double canopy are reaching him properly? The uv lights are at the back and he basks high up at the front.
Will he...
I don't think he was. That said, he is eating from the cup, just not a huge amount. The cricket sizes seem to be correct too.
Guess i'll just keep an eye on him.
On a side note - he only ate 5 today.
I put them in and go get ready for work. check to see if he's eaten any before i leave and then check again when i'm home. My other half is in the house during the day and she hears him eat every now and then but nobody stands and watches him.
I picked up my 3 month old Ambilobe Panther on Sunday and I'm curious about his eating habits.
This is a break down of his eating so far:
Sunday - Ate nothing, just hid under his basking light and stayed there until i turned his lights off for the night.
Monday - Ate 2-3 crickets but wasn't...
Hello,
I've been browsing the forums this morning looking for answers but I wonder if some of you could set me straight.
I have a 12 week old panther chameleon that is being fed gutloaded & powdered crickets.
He ate nothing the first day, 2 crickets yesterday and so far he's had 3 today...
