Thank you! She has a basking bulb at the top of her cage that she is under quite a bit especially since its winter. She is doing we better but I still don't see poop. So its either somewhere I can't see it or she's not going. She's a tough cookie- I rescued her from a pet store that was feeding...
Update- for anyone who might have wondered I took Wahine to the vet and with bloodwork and x-rays she was cleared from being egg bound. Doc says her calcium was depleted but common since she just laid eggs. Her cell count was slightly high so she's fighting something but all in all was cleared...
I have felt her up over the course of the week thinking that she might have things in there still and I don't feel anything there. Towards her back legs it actually looks empty especially since she was totally fat with eggs. I'll make an appointment with her vet.
Hello,
I have a female veiled that just laid her first clutch (infertile) 12 days ago. She seems slightly lethargic, is only eating about 3/4 of what she used to, is drinking normally. This morning I found a random egg on the floor.
When she laid her eggs, she started digging in a plant, I...
In the Dupage Area- Danada Vet Hospital in Wheaton, Dr. Wallach sees the exotics. She was great with my ferrets and is knowledgable with the reptiles having treated my brothers iguana and my box turtle.
The best ones are in Chicago at Animal House of Chicago. I had a very sick Cham last year...
Hey everyone- I used to have a chameleon and when he passed away a year ago I made the choice to not get another one because of how much work it was to care for him. There is a little guy in distress in the Schaumburg IL petco (on roselle) if anyone is a pet store rescuer. It appears to be a...
that's really great. I'm glad to hear there is improvement
My vet and I did discuss the potential of a bone infection but only biopsy would confirm for sure and he didn't think that was the case since he was moving fine and was not showing signs of pain and he didn't feel anything abnormal in...
Thanks, I just did.
I agree that this sounds like what I am dealing with. with the exception of his movement. PL has never shown signs of loss in grip and movement. There are also no masses anywhere on his body.
I will mention the bone infection to my vet. thanks so much for the additional...
thanks I appreciate the sympathy.
The infection started in his eye and was in his mouth and sinus. Almost like a sinus infection in people. Swabs were done regularly in his mouth and eyes. the infection lingered in the mouth longer then the eye and he was on antibiotics until swabs showed it...
my veiled PeterLorre has been diagnosed with lockjaw. It has been a very hard thing to deal with and we are currently on syringe feedings. I have little hope for him but am posting because I am really confused as to what happened. He was a healthy 3.5 year old, he had a check up in January and...
Thanks, I managed to get him into a vet that is close to my house. He has a sinus infection or something similar. It wasn't only in his eye. Good thing is that even though a bit out of the range I wanted to spend, I got blood done and everything is great with him. He's never been to a vet so I...
Hello everyone,
I haven't posted in a while, but read often. Have had great results in the past with help from forum members at a crucial time in my PeterLorre's life that probably saved it. So here I am 3 years later...
PeterLorre is a male veiled, 3 1/2 yrs. eating normally, drinking...
The bribing is a good idea, but how long does that take? is it something they will do right away or it takes an hour or it takes a couple of days etc? So i suppose i just have to get used to him being mean. But it also seems very stressful for him- poor guy.
That's what i was going to say. He hides way in the back of his cage in very difficult to get to positions. But i will try the gloves. I had just finished writing my post and returned to the forums when i saw someone had beat me to it, and that post has some great info. also the video luring...
So my veiled PeterLorre hates my guts. He is maybe 10 or months old and i used to handle him quite a bit when he was a baby. I am a first time owner and after reading on here that one shouldn't hold them, i was a little sad but figured if it was for the best then i would just watch him from...
