Im going to get a thermostat for my basking light but because my house gets very cold in winter I was going to run a ceramic heater at night aswell. Now could i use a twin channel habistat to run the lights or should I buy two seperate pulse proportianl thermostats or two diming thermostats ?

You could rest the edges of the lamp on some small strips of tile. That would give you a slightly raised lamp.
