He was dead this morning :(
I don't know much about chameleon death, but he was yellow and striped black, his eyes black. I tried to wait to see if he might come around, but there was...that smell, you know what i'm talking about if you've been around deceased pets...and he was completely...
Me too :( husband just went and checked on him and says he looks back to his normal self. But had given him water and a little heat. I'm hoping it doesn't mess up his sleep cycle too bad.
I was about to move him into this larger enclosure I setup but no I'm worried it'll stress him out...
So Kabuki had been doing better since we rescued him, but as an older guy in a bad situation and from advice we got from the vet he's been probably going to go downhill.
Lately he has been getting thinner despite eating very well and getting his dusted food that we've been gutloading...
I find I have to adjust the flow in mine at times. Plus mine started leaking at where the container meets the start of the dripper, so i had to stop using it.
THIS! Especially this. As long as your animals are cared for and clean, clean, clean, most places will look the other way even if they don't like it. But generally only if it doesn't cause problems. And no one likes a neighbors with stanky animals.
I'm sorry to hear that you're having that issue with your complex. That seems kind of dumb and sounds like whoever you talked to just may not like reptiles and has some aversion to them. So it may be policy, or they just say no. We've been in many places and some allow them and others don't...
Yea, I mean they're opportunistic feeders so they'd eat anything that came along. But I wouldn't feed one just because.
I live in colorado, so I doubt I'd run into any wild anoles out here. If I did I'd be worried lol.
You might have to experiment to find a wattage that works for your cage and the ambient temperature. It varies on height from the basking spot, your location, temperatures in the house, etc...
Right now I'm using a 40 watt and it's making a good ambient temperature and basking spot, but it's...
So I came across this today while perusing forums and youtube for some feeding cup suggestions..

Not sure how I feel about it, since my main thought is wtf and why since worms and bugs and all are plenty of food for your chameleon. Why feed it a live reptile...
I also do have an old birdcage, but it would not work for a chameleon. We'd considered using it when we first got Kabuki but the way the door is, very tiny opening, and how it's setup, there'd be no way to access the enclosure at all and I didn't want to alter it.
Kabuki hates misting. He clenches his face down and goes into kung fu grip mode. I try not to spray him directly but it still upsets him. I use warm water since by the time it sprays out it's almost feeling cold already. On a rare occasion he'll act like he's been praying for rain and seems...
