Reptile Egg Incubation Trays Better or Not??

I've actually tried this on three separate clutches of eggs (Panther) from different pairings. Half clutch in my regular set up (moist vermiculite in plastic container with ONE pin sized hole for vent) and the other half in this egg container you are referring to, also with ONE pin sized hole...

    Mistking on its way!!

Don't give up on the MistKing...... Get rid of the sterilite and start with a new container. Drill hole with size as stated in instructions. HAND TIGHT the bulk.....pay attention to which side is inside or outside bulk head. If it's truest a bad bulkhead, give them a call to have them resend...

Gonna be away for a while

Have you tried contacting a local pet store and see if they are willing to "care" for your chameleon while you are away? I've been to numerous pet stores where I see......Not for Sale and I'd ask and in most cases, they are pet sitting while owner is on vacation. I'm sure the cost will be...

    Lights at nighttime?

Instead of 7a-7p, why not change it to 9a-9p. The late light start would similate dawn with natural day light into your room......and when you are home in the evening you can still enjoy and observe your chameleon before "lights out" for the both of you.

    Is this too much uvb?

Your screen top will "filter" out some uvb rays. In most cases, folks have "burned" their charms with basking bulb then from uvb rays.

    Eggs Hatching

As time gets close to hatching or first signs of "egg sweating" I usually punch two little pin holes on lid and keep eye on moisture so it doesn't dry out before the reminder hatches. In your case, id either crack the lid for gas exchange or poke a couple of small holes

    Herp Keeper Pro

after a recent NEAR tragic event, I've decided on purchasing a monitoring/timer device such as Herp Keeper Pro-NET from Digital Aquatics. Does anyone have experience with this device? NEAR tragic event: Mistking timer failed on me and did not noticed until two days later when checking water...

    repashy help

Based on my experience, using Calcium Plus for DAILY feeding has done well for me for the last THREE years with no signs of any overdose of one vitamin/mineral or otherwise. No outside light, Reptisun 5.0 is the only UVB light source. It's done well for me and I don't see a need to switch...

    Mistaking water

I use filtered water, either in-line (typical fridge type you refer to) or simple Britta filter. As long as its filtered. Reason for me doing so is to minimize hard water clogging the TINY mist nozzle. For nozzle to work properly and create that micro fine mist, it needs to be free of...

    Female panther Ground walking

outside of having to lay eggs, is there a reason why a female panther would want/need to roam the floor of enclousure? Female panther is NOT gravid. All her other behavior (feeding/drinking) and outward appearance is of a healthy female. I am puzzled by this wandering walking behavior. She...

    Any benefit to expensive breeders?

Regardless of bloodline/breeder, the set up and upkeep (bulb replacement/food/vet bills) is what will add up to more then the cost of your chameleon. Price is subjective, you might say $150 is a lot to spend on a reptile, I say anything above $300 is expensive! What it comes down to...

    breeding clutchmates

At one point or another (reptile trade industry) there have been "selective breeding" taking place to keep/enhance the traits (i.e color/patterns) of the reptile (not talking about hybrid). So yes, there have been interbreeding of panthers, veils, etc chameleons. Naturally the gene pool gets...

    Female panther maturity

I have been feeding her 8-10 crickets (3 week old) daily. She has had a big full belly for the past few weeks which led me to believe that she could be developing eggs

    Female panther maturity

how does one determine that their female panther chameleon is mature? Would it be by time (i.e. 1 year old) or by weight (i.e 65 grams)? I have a female ambilobe panther that is around 6 months old and I can't tell if she is gravid already Or just well fed I just can't imagine at 6 months old...
