It’s been a bit since I’ve posted on here because I’ve been busy with work and plans around this time of year, but Rango is still thriving!
My only issue: I’ve noticed that he seems to bask all day. Compared to before, he used to explore his “territory” and was fairly active during the day, so...
I just got this tattoo of my baby today. I decided Marigolds were appropriate for the flowers around him, and I think my artist captured him perfectly.
He even got the MBD elbows in there. 💚
Rango somehow slept like this (until I disturbed him) … but he had his tail curled a bit so I figured now is a good time to share his pose with the world 😂
I had some help estimating he was 5-6 months old back in July. With his bone condition, it’s hard to tell just how old he may be because his growth is off… but I would like to say 10 months. He’s getting close to his estimated hatch day! :)
Yes, he has MBD :( Rango is given D3-free calcium powder daily (alongside other things of course) to help with it, and his condition has not since worsened.
Either way, I’ve learned to love his wonky little elbows 💚
I took a quick picture of my scale baby yesterday because I’m planning on getting a tattoo of him, and I would like it to be as accurate as possible.
Look at how much my boy has grown. I’m so proud of him! 💚
I did notice the shine on it! I thought it was a bit suspicious, but I wasn’t sure. I’ll definitely sand it a bit and give it a bendy-branch, since this is his favorite basking spot and I want him to enjoy it to the fullest. 💚
For a few days after I put a bamboo bridge in Rango (my veiled)’s cage, he avoided the general area. I had hoped to use it with the intent of helping his claws dull out a bit.
He seems to have explored the bamboo out of curiosity while I was away today. Look at his basking stance! 😂
They seem to hover around the ceiling, specifically the lights. Occasionally they will move onto Rango’s branches. I think they may have come from another part of my home? I don’t leave food in my veiled’s cage for more than a day at a time. He usually eats it… but right now, he’s in shed 😅
I’m sure there are already many posts about this issue… but I’ve noticed that gnats (fruit flies) seemed to come out of nowhere and have become roommates with my Veiled.
Is there a simple way to solve this problem? Maybe a plant of sorts?
