    Loss of appetite

My female R.Brev suddenly has a loss of appetite. She hasn't eaten for a few days. She's moving around and doen't look particularly ill. But she does possibly look slightly skinny, e.g. ribs showing, but that was sometimes the case anyway, she'd be able to change from looking quite plump...

    Baby!

Yes, I had thought the same but they seem to have a habit of changing shape and appearance in an almost chamleonlike fashion :)

    Baby!

Sorry to hear that. I am just about thinking of finding new homes for these, let me know if you are interested. They all seem healthy, difficult to sex at the moment though.

Gut loading fruit flies for pygmies

My new baby Brevs are tucking into fruit flies, but i wondered if it's worth feeding the FFs if possible on something high in calcium, such as dried figs? I know dried figs can contain sulphates, but I would use the organic ones. Any ideas on this?

    Baby!

I spoke too soon, we now have six babies. They all seem to be very happy, tucking into their fruit flies. However I will need to find homes for the soon.

    Baby!

I think he may be too large already for dad, he's about half an inch. I think he must have been in there quite a while, or are they born that big? Anyway I have put him in a separate container with some springtails and tropical woodlice, I'm off to the shop to get a small viv and see if they...

    Baby!

I didn't expect this, but just noticed the patter of tiny feet so I'm proud to introduce young Wayne: He appears to be a male anyway, what do people think? I have taken him out of the viv, he appears to have an appetite, eating springtails. I will try him with some tropical woodlice. Is it OK...

    Handling Pygmy Chameloens

OK, well that seems to fit I with what I suspected. I haven't yet cleaned out the viv, what is required regarding that? I have some thriving springtails in there and it's not getting smelly or anything. It's good to know that a little bit of handling is OK, they are lovely animals just to...

    Handling Pygmy Chameloens

Since getting my chameleons a few weeks ago, apart from picking them up to put them in viv, i haven't handled them assuming this may stress them out. But now I wonder if it's a good or bad thing to sometimes pick them up and say hello. Sometimes I will put my hand in close to them to guide...

Just add crickets or monitor the amount?

I'm now trying to gauge whether a chameleon "looks" hungry or not. I tend to think if they are low down prowling around on the ground or on the low sticks, they are looking for food. But they can change from either looking very fat or very thin depending on whether they are stretched out a...
