I've had one cham before, her name was Hermione. She was a veiled chameleon, which I got when I was around 12 years old. She was 2 and a half years old at the time (got her from a friend who had to give her away). Even though I was young when I got her, she lived to be almost 7 years old.
When she passed away, my sister got me a new cham as a gift, also a female veiled one. She was 3 months when I got her on 25th of April and we named her Ciri. She's a climber, and she loves faces. Everytime someone tries to look at her more closely, she immediately grabs for their face and starts climbing on their head.
I keep her in a glass terrarium with a screen on top, though I plan on getting a screen cage in the future. I feed her crickets with supplements. As for hydration I just spray her cage with some warm water. She has a basking light and also a UVB one on top. I have a backup ceramic heater, in case the basking light breaks and I need a temporary way to keep her warm. I use normal soil substrate, never had any problems with it, like mold, etc. She's got plenty of sticks, vines and plants to go around her enclosure.
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled chameleon, female, got her on 25th April, 2018 when she was about 3 months old.
Handling - Depends on her, sometimes she will come out willingly, sometimes she just doesn't want to leave her enclosure.
Feeding - Crickets, around 10 a day. I just shake them out of the box to roam the cage, but I will be getting an enclosure to keep them.
Supplements - I use Nutrimix. It's a Czech brand, made to be used twice a week. It has vitamins and calcium, but I plan on getting seperate supplments in the future.
Watering - I hand-spray around twice a day for a couple of minutes.
Fecal Description - Colors and consistency all look normal.
History - She was raised for 3 months with her siblings. She is used to being handled, since the previous owner had two daughters that loved the chams.
Cage Info:
Cage Type - Glass with a screen on top, it's 16x16x25, but I plan on getting a bigger screen one once I have the money.
Lighting - I use Exo-Terra for UVB. My basking light broke, so I have a normal house light bulb until the new basking one arrives.
Temperature - XXX
Humidity - XXX
Plants - Yes, I use only live plants. I can't remember what they are called, but I know that they are not toxic to chameleons.
Placement - In the corner of my room. No one goes there except when going to the cage. It's placed on a small shelf, about 50 cm high.
