Thank you so much guys, I will go ahead and try replacing the Blue day lght bulb I have now with a household starting at 25.
Right now I keep the lamp a couple of inches from the cage but the cage is only getting to about 78. Thank you for the help!
She told me being that young it could damage their skin and cause them to die due to the heat... with the light on the set up is 73-75 degrees with the humidity being 60-70. We live in Arizona so some days it's a little hotter.
When I first brought my Rango home he was only 4 weeks and was told he was still to tiny. He is now about 11 weeks old and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if he is now ready for a heat lamp and what temperatures the cage should be for a cool zone, regular uvb light zone and heat lamp zone?
It's ways cool to be able share the Same excitement with someone else. New Cham owner here; has had the little guy since friday night and he wouldn't eat any crickets until today when I gave him fruit flies... was able to snap a video too
Finally was able to find something he likes, and the best part of it all he ate and drank in front of me.
How many fruitflies should he be eating a day? He's about 3 weeks old
Okay. They did come out white looking. I'll make sure to go easy next time for the amount of crickets I had.
Now I'm just confused the owners at the reptile shop said they don't need a D3 and that to do equal parts of the supplements at every feeding unless ofcourse you do to much like I did...
There were plastic measuring spoons that came with the supplements and I just poured it onto the crickets and yes the new cage is coming. He'll have a better home as of Monday night. What are good safe plants that are easy to care for with no sun
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled Male, I've had him since the evening of May 1 2014
Handling - Have only handled him officialy once. Twice if you count having to put him in on a smaller enclosure so I can redo his
Feeding - I was told I can keep about 15 crickets in the cage with him...
Thank you everyone for your help. I picked him up from a family who bought him from a breeder as an egg, they bought 2 bot thinking they both would servive. Right now he's in a glass 10 gallon reptile tank; which unfortunately was sold to me by the fabulous no experience workers at a chain pet...
I've never been a reptile lover but in the last 4 months have loved the idea of owning an exotic animal; constantly debating on a hedgehog, unfortunate illegal in AZ, and a Chameleon as something to keep me occupied when I'm not working. I have a 2 week old MALE Veiled and being a first time...
