    What do these colors mean?

If you have an automatic mister, that is perfect and no need to worry. But if you’re hand misting, you don’t want to risk disturbing her from her work, so would want to use a dripper method.

    What do these colors mean?

Once she starts digging, it usually takes a day or two from start to finish. She may sleep in her tunnel or go to a branch for the night. You’ll know she’s all done when she’s completely covered her tunnel and is basking, looking a bit thinner and dirty. She might not yet be ready to lay, but is...

My panther chameleon is brown/ darker in color

It’s hard to tell…does he have a basking branch about 8-9” below his heat light? I love your plants! You could add some more branches or vines though…more little chameleon roads to travel.

My panther chameleon is brown/ darker in color

At his age, you could boost his basking temp up a tad to around 85. Being dark means he’s trying to absorb more heat and/or uvb. What type of uvb do you have and how far away is it from his basking branch? Maybe post some pics of him and his enclosure?

    What do these colors mean?

She looks and sounds to be gravid. 🙂 Make sure to cover up at least the lower third or half of the visible part of her enclosure to give her needed privacy for laying. If she doesn’t feel secure enough, she won’t lay her eggs. I always poke little peep holes in the cover sheet so I can monitor...

    Humidity problems

I guess it all depends on how low your ambient temps are. If in the 60’s during the day, yes, I would be using something to increase temps. If at night, that’s perfect. Ambient temps in the 70’s during the day aren’t too bad lower in the enclosure. Most chameleons pretty much stay in the higher...

    Vegetables to feed to chameleon?

Hi and welcome to the forum! 🙂 You’re resurrected a bit of an older thread, but that’s ok. As husbandry evolves, it’s not recommended to give our veiled chameleons vegetable matter anymore. They lack the ability to properly digest it. I know, I know…they eat their plants and eat plants in the...

    Humidity problems

Basking temps is one of those husbandry items that has changed in recent years as we’ve learned more about them. My memory is that biologists and some chameleon people who went to Madagascar and other areas, measured the temps where the actual chameleons were sitting and basking and found them...

    Humidity problems

It’s best to keep basking temp just a tad lower…a peak of 85. The basking branch should be 8-9” below the lights for optimal uvb exposure.

Do you have a vet or need the list? Attaching it just in case.

    Humidity problems

Hi. You can use whatever works to cover the sides and/or back. I use fabric shower curtain with a blue sky print to keep things light/bright and mainly block views of each other. Some use the 3M window insulating film for tidiness. I do want/need to comment that you need to add many more...

    Update: Eye Issue

It’s so hard to tell when it comes to their eyes. He doesn’t have that inner corner bulge which usually indicates something like a keratin plug or something else stuck in there. There’s no drainage in the pics and you haven’t mentioned any. Obviously it wouldn’t be a vitamin A issue if your...

    LED UVB lights?

I use Arcadia uvb lights which are good for at least a year. Since uvb is so very important, I would be very cautious about LED uvb at this point in time from any company other than those with very solid reputations, such as Arcadia or ReptiSun. I would advise contacting...

    When to slow down feeding…

Generally panthers will let you know when to cut them back by decreased appetite. Mine all will eat forever and a day though, so I look to the sizes of their casques. Where your beauties casque is now looks ideal. You want it to have just the smallest concavity to it. If it starts bulging up and...
