They're gnats probably!!! I hate them! They like the moisture from misting and live and lay eggs in the soil. I already had to repot my plant twice to get them away, but they always return a couple months later.
Male veiled chameleons have spurs on the back of their foot like this:
If it doesn't, you may have a female. It also looks really small and skinny for 8 months.
I have never heard in my life anyone feeding a chameleon 3 crickets a day. Less than a year isn't even full mature yet... you should feed everyday like however much maintains your chameleon at a good weight at least 6-10, not 3...
Every other day means feed one day, skip the next day, and feed the following day. However, most people feed their chameleons everyday and I recommend feeding everyday like 10-15 crickets.
I think preying mantises are even harder to take care of because I heard they kill each other and you soon have to separate them. You also have to feed them either fruit flies or pinhead crickets anyway... I hate crickets too!!
I've never had a baby veiled show color this early! He's not even 4 months old. When he's relaxed he's light turquoise and yellow. It's so weird seeing such a little chameleon with turquoise and yellow stripes!
