Where did these flies come from?

They're gnats probably!!! I hate them! They like the moisture from misting and live and lay eggs in the soil. I already had to repot my plant twice to get them away, but they always return a couple months later.

    New

Male veiled chameleons have spurs on the back of their foot like this: If it doesn't, you may have a female. It also looks really small and skinny for 8 months.

    I don't hold my cham

I don't hold my chameleon either... He seems happy in his cage and I'm actually a little bit scared to even try lol.

I feed my 4 month old veiled 20-30 small crickets a day... 10 is way too few!

feeding my 11.5 months old veiled

I have never heard in my life anyone feeding a chameleon 3 crickets a day. Less than a year isn't even full mature yet... you should feed everyday like however much maintains your chameleon at a good weight at least 6-10, not 3...

feeding my 11.5 months old veiled

Every other day means feed one day, skip the next day, and feed the following day. However, most people feed their chameleons everyday and I recommend feeding everyday like 10-15 crickets.

    Cricket Question???

10 is not that many... you can feed him more.

    Baby chamelion seems not happy

My baby veiled does that when he is starting to shed. He shed again after two weeks, one week is kind of weird though.

    Praying mantis

I think preying mantises are even harder to take care of because I heard they kill each other and you soon have to separate them. You also have to feed them either fruit flies or pinhead crickets anyway... I hate crickets too!!

D3 and sun - advice needed please

Being outside in the shade still gets more UVB than being under lights! Maybe you can dust with D3 once a month instead?

what watt size bulb should i get?

A house bulb is fine, you don't ever need a reptile bulb unless you want to. The watt depends on the basking temperature... should be around 80.

    Early Veiled Colors?

I've never had a baby veiled show color this early! He's not even 4 months old. When he's relaxed he's light turquoise and yellow. It's so weird seeing such a little chameleon with turquoise and yellow stripes!
