Branching out beyond crickets and waxworms...

I have had great success, and really love Phoenix, or calci worms. I buy them online in lots of 400. They live for months with little to no die off, no smell, no noise, and best of all, no gut loading. They are loaded with calcium and have a great balance of phosphorus as well. Took a few...

How "separate" do chams really need to be?

I have a question regarding keeping two male panther chameleons. I keep them in separate cages with a divider in between to keep them from seeing each other, but what about when they are out and about with me? Is it ok for them to see each other "in passing" so to speak? Do I need to make sure...

    HornWorms?

This is the first time I have seen anything about removing their mandibles prior to feeding. Is this a recommended practice, an absolute, or just something some people do? I do not want to get my guys hurt, so if I need to be removing them I will, but I am curious as to what happens in the...

I wish you and Max the best. Few that I know would have done what you have, and that is commendable.

bedtime shots...how do you do it??

Mine apparently sleeps hard. I have sat there and taken multiples angles and shots on nights when it is just too cool to let pass and he never even stirs. That is the only way, otherwise, I would not disturb his sleep. Like this one.

    Oustalet's humidity help help

Most people would recommend that you stay with the screen cage and use your misting schedule to manage the humidity levels. You should be misting several times a day for around 2-3 minutes to allow for a good saturation and keeping live plants will also help. My guys all love Pothos, which is...

    First horn worm

I ordered them from Backwater Reptiles. Not cheap, but easy to care for and obviously, the chams go crazy for them. My only problem was that they grew quickly. I ordered the smallest they had and had trouble feeding them all before they got way too big for my little guy to eat.

    The Dude Abides

It is good to hear about other chams that like the ground floor. It worried me at first, but everything else was spot on in terms of care, so I chalked it up to a "quirk" of his. Now it has just become part of his routine. He actually got quite aggravated with me when I tried to get him to stop.

    The Dude Abides

Yeah. He drinks regularly. he likes the mist king, but would really rather drink from a dripper. He has a healthy appetite for crickets, hornworms, and he loves Phoenix worms.

    The Dude Abides

No. It is three feet tall. He spends all day at the top, but climbs down in the evenings to sleep. He usually grabs a pothos leaf, but this night was down on the glass bottom.
