If you want to save money use everything you have currently. I used my chameleons growing cage and got one from craigslist and stacked the smaller one on top of the other. Now I have this HUGE almost 6 ft tall cage in the living room. The whole project used up a day but its worth it.

Personally I dont use any ground cover for my cages. Easier to clean and wipe down and less things my cham might ingest. I just make sure that I cover my soil (the ones in the pot for the plants) with medium sized white stones. Also prey cant dig and hide away from your chameleon.

They are actually "flesh eating bugs"! RUNN!!!! Just kidding :) They are great clean up crew. Toss them into your feeder colony or storage and they will clean up any dead remains. I looked them up they are kinda pricy so its always nice to have them!

This technique was for hand feeding but could be used to transition into handling. I personally dont handle my chams just hand feeding them gives me enough satisfaction. Every now and then I do handle them usually at night when they are MUCH more docile and tolerant. :P
