    Gular edema during gestation

Yes! When we bought her larger enclosure, we moved her other one out to the patio. She seemed very restless in the outside enclosure and would climb all over, even on the floor and wouldn't settle. I initially attributed it to stress but now looking back, I wonder if those behaviors were due to...

    Gular edema during gestation

Okay, that is relieving to hear. Is there anything that I should be doing to provide her relief? I have read that it can subside on it's own, as long as it's not due to a more severe problem.

    Gular edema during gestation

Hi all - Last night my veiled laid her first clutch of (32) infertile eggs. About 6 days ago, we noticed a swelling under the gular area which is still present. I have read about the possible causes of gular edema, but was curious if anyone has ever experienced it during gestation/before laying...

    Hi all - basking temps/egg-laying

Okay, so I will keep feeding her once a day at the current amount. I guess in a month or so I'll cut it back to every other day. I just feel so bad...she always wants to eat! I am used to my furbabies who look at me with puppy dog eyes and get spoiled with treats :p Some of this feels like guess...

    Hi all - basking temps/egg-laying

I feed her about 8 small crickets (probably 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch) in the morning with some sweet potato. I have tried apple, blueberries, kale and collards and she doesn't like any of that - just the sweet potatoes. The crickets are gutloaded/dusted. And like I said, when I get home from work I...

    Hi all - basking temps/egg-laying

I definitely don't spray the water in an aggressive way...if anything the only part of her I let the mister touch is her tail. She just always seems to hate when I mist and starts to move away. I'm not sure if I'm overfeeding her, initially I was doing twice daily and now I'm doing once a day...

    Hi all - basking temps/egg-laying

Have not done any fecal testing yet. I actually work in a veterinary hospital, and will be able to bring in a fecal sample with me on Saturday. The vet said overall she looks healthy, although a little thin. I was not able to really get an approx. age on her.

    Hi all - basking temps/egg-laying

Hi there - she does not seem to be sleeping during the day, although I am not home to see if her eyes are closed. But when I check on my camera, it looks like she moves from 1-2 places and not much else. The past two days (I've only had her for about 72 hours) she seemed to like to move around a...

    Hi all - basking temps/egg-laying

I posted a discussion yesterday about my new female veiled and everyone was helpful with giving me advice. I am new at this so I am a bit of a nervous wreck about what to do to make sure she's getting the proper husbandry. So I unfortunately worked a long shift today, about 12 hours, and came...

    Help! New owner.

She has a large schefflera plant in the cage with 3 or 4 vines going horizontal and vertical. Also a ladder that goes down to the bottom of the cage. I would say she has equal room to roam. Yesterday she was all over the place. Especially hiding in a corner. As far as the feeding goes, I have...

Sidenote, the worms I refrigerated seemed to have died. I did not purchase superworms but I am definitely going to.

    Help! New owner.

Thanks for all of your advice! Since y'all think she's a baby still, I would love some extra advice on basking temps. I read in a blog here females dont need to be above 80 or 82, then maybe 84 to 85 when she's older. Today she spent most of her time towards the bottom 2/3 of her enclosure and I...
