If I were to run a dehumidifier, my aquariums would go through more water than I could provide I fear. The drain for my central A/C looks almost like a faucet running, lol. As for the lighting, I will swap the bulbs back out when I get home... I do have a double dome fixture that came with the...
Currently, in Pensacola, it is 82 degrees F. Relative humidity is 99%. It is 10:46 PM. Our current heat index is 95 degrees F. At 10:45 PM. Seriously. It is hot and humid here.
Thanks! Unfortunately, our humidity here is so high it feels like you're swimming through the air when you step outside. Getting it to 50% indoors is a blessing, even with our A/C set to 68. I have taken Gingero's advice already and will only mist 2x per day now. As for the bulb, I thought a 12%...
Plants are potted and placed, fake vines placed as filler until real plants take off. Basking lamp now set to 90 at the main top branch. Mistking reservoir still being worked on, so back to hand misting for the next couple of days.
Thank you for the advice! I have the plants to put in his cage but it got too late last night for me to keep working on it. I hope to get it done tonight. As for the misting and basking, I will make those changes immediately. My mistking system sprang a leak last night and it's been down today...
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Male veiled Chameleon, not sure of his age. I have had him about a month or so. Petco, where I got him, said that they had him for about 4 months.
Handling - I handle him about one per week. I also hand feed him a superworm every now and then, about 2x per week...
So, after receiving the reptibreeze instead of the cage I ordered, I made the best of it. I have added dragon ledges, great stuff fake rock walls, a mistking, several live plants, a fake plant, a T5HO Arcadia 12% 24" light, a dimmed 100 watt basking light, and a grumpy lizard. I also have a nice...
The reason I bought this system was because I needed RODI water for my tanks and my wife wanted a drinking water filter since she doesn't like tap water. So I killed 2 birds with 1 stone, so to say. You don't really need the inline carbon block for pets and I don't think DI water would have any...
I just realized that the link I posted was for a 75gpd system...mine is a two membrane 150gpd system which makes water twice as fast. I also have a dual TDS meter inline and a DI resin stage that I can use on demand for reef water. My system was about $100 more than the one in the link I posted...
Actually, my tds out of the can is 6. I also have a DI filter to bring that to 0. This is the system I use for my reef tanks. There is no "remineralizing" of this water at all. I can produce 5 gallons of RODI in about 25 minutes. That's ZERO TDS water. If I don't run the DI cartridge, then I can...
I know I'm new here, but I've been reef keeping for several years and can attest to the superb quality of the BRS system. It's one of the best in the business. Here is a link to the system with a tank and faucet... https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/5-stage-75gpd-drinking-water-ro-system-brs.html
Lol, so far I have only spent a small fraction of the cost of my main reef tank on this grumpy lizard. My 120 gallon 2x2x4 tank, sump and stand ran me over 2 grand just to get it up and stable. My little 25 gallon clown and anemone system ran me over $500 to get up and stable. Then, because...
