We have those little guys ALL OVER the place in southern Indiana! My husband and I will go out in our woods and look for them, not to mention I have stopped multiple times to get them out of the road.
I don't know about Jersey, but here in Indiana it is actually illegal mess with wild EBTs...
I think I'll hold off on this year and brainstorm for next year. I have put a lot of thought into this and still can't come up with a definite answer, so it would be better to have nothing at all than to rush into getting something and regret the decision!
Thank you all for your help!! :)
Like thick British, or thick something else? I had a German English literature professor once, but you wouldn't have known he was German...
I did have a Chinese track coach in college, and for the life of me I didn't understand 90% of what he said.
Most schools (sadly) don't allow turtles anymore due to salmonella worries (though, if you're a responsible teacher/pet owner, the cage is LOCKED unless you open it, which should solve the problem of Junior sticking the turtle in his mouth... just sayin'). I also wouldn't want something that...
Haha, sorry, I just want to clarify so you guys don't think I'm some newbie who doesn't know her animals :)
Our current "children" are:
2 veiled chams (Seamus and Shannon)
5 chinchillas (Carmen, Minnie, Trousers, Daisy, and Peach - though depending on the Arlington ruling, we will be...
I teach 7th grade, and I have been thinking for a while about getting a class pet of a reptilian or amphibian sort. I don't want a chameleon because of the precise care, so I was thinking about some sort of gecko. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have owned a tokay gecko before (and never...
Anyone who can help with this situation should. This is one of the worst busts for reptiles and small animals in US history. I'm part of a chinchilla forum, and people are getting ready to take in animals if necessary.
Please, if you can take in ANY of these animals, do so. We wouldn't...
Wow...
I wasn't expecting some of the drama that came with this, but I did find out some good info!
Dustin - I didn't even think to ask you whether or not you were on this forum, but it totally makes sense. I am in Southern Indiana, so needless to say I don't see many Ambilobe panthers (or...
I just have a question for some of you breeders out there.
Someone on Craigslist is selling Ambilobe panther chameleon eggs. They were laid on November 1. Would it be safe to buy these eggs? The seller claims they are already in appropriate incubation substrate.
I'm just more curious...
My vet is actually very good. His father was the president of the Greater Cincinnati Herpetological Society for many years, and he actually specialized in reptile care. He didn't give Apollo any treatment when he did see him, he just explained to us what was wrong (dehydration) and told us...
Apollo wasn't old at all - he was very young. We took him to the vet when he wouldn't eat when we first got him, and we were just told to wait it out and he would come around. He wasn't looking great, but we thought that it might be a weather change (I'm in Indiana and it's starting to get...
My husband and I lost our Ambilobe panther, Apollo, this past Friday. I went to check on him in his cage and he was gone. We buried him (we're big softies that way) back in our woods.
Some things we noticed before he died:
1. We moved to a new house, could his death have been stress...
