Because the temperatures drop low at night and i dont want to use a ceramic heater as i never know if they are working correctly or not. So i was planning on keeping the heat source on all the time with a slight drop at night, I have read on many sites and the pet shop said that a blue or red...

But due to me leaving it on all the time it will disrupth the chams day/night cycle wont it? This is why i thught a red bulb would be better as they dont see the red light.

Thanks for the info guys. Another thing i want to know is about the heating basking spot, well ive got a reflector and fittings on top of the cage and due to it getting cold here at night i will be leaving the heat on, so i was wondering would a normal 50 or 75 watt red bulb be ok? Thanks

Well my enclosure is about 26inch high and about 24 inches wide. Could someone tell me which uvb tube light would be best to get. Should i get 5.0, 8.0 or 10.0. It will be situated outside the enclosure so it will be going through the mesh Thanks

Thanks for the info. Ive decided to cut out a square on the roof on the enclosure and cover it with mesh rather than wood so it enables me to put the uv light and heat lamp outside the enclosure

I got told in one of my other posts that a cage this size would be fine for a baby chameleon as long as the cham is hand fed, (to make sure it eats regularly and not have problems finding the food)

Well my viv is about 24inch wide by 18inch depth and 26inch high, Would a 6-7 week old chameleon be ok in this enclosure? Or would it be best to purchase an adult. I really wanted a baby chameleon though but im not sure if the enclosure would be too big for it?
