How do I tell the age of my chameleon...? Do you go by size or weight...? Wanna know how old/ how big before we start feeding him crickets

Hes 9... Yes, I'm actually getting interested in it. The terrarium set up was a bit hectic, but once that part was finished, the rest is going ok...
