Giving out male veiled for adoption in albany, NY

Currently I have a male veiled and a jackson and am thinking of giving up the male veiled for adoption because it eats too much and poops a lot more than the jackson. I don't really have the energy to feed both anymore. The veiled is about 8 months old and healthy. I bought him from petsmart...

    Simple semi free range PIC

Mine too. He never eats when he's out. I figured it was because he was stressed when I was around while he was out. He probably felt more relaxed when he was in his cage and would eat from the cup in my hand. So far, I haven't seen any effect of free ranging on his aggressiveness. But it has...

    Simple semi free range PIC

After reading about the positive impact free ranging can have on chameleon, I finally decided to start one. But I really don't want to spill water all over my place and reinstall lights and mistking, I set up a semi free range connected to the cage. My chameleon stepped out of his cage only...

    Free range with boundary

I have been thinking about setting up a free range for my chameleons. But I really don't want them to run all over my room. I am thinking about building something like dog(baby) fence using PVC boards surrounding the free range area. I think PVC boards should be smooth enough for chameleons not...

    Rescue from Petco

I remember when I first got my 3-month-old male veiled from petsmart, there was one day in the evening around 7 when his eyes were slightly closed. Nothing happened later on as he is still healthy now that it has been 3 months. So I guess your cham could be just tired. But try to keep cautious.:D

How do you make a new chameleon eat?

Thank you for your replies. I probably will have to cut some leaves to clear out the view for him. I just got this guy today. Jacksons are just so cute (mostly because he doesn't hiss when I go near him, unlike my veiled:D)

How do you make a new chameleon eat?

Hi guys, I just got a jacksons chameleon from flcham. He's 9-12 months old. I put him into a 18 by 18 by 36 enclosure full of foliage. Here's the problem, he is still a little frightened probably due to the new relocation and doesn't know how to eat from a fixed cup (I put a cup with crickets...

    Final Countdown!

I will also get my jacksons tomorrow from flcham. Here in albany NY is 28-35, snow in the afternoon. BTW, did you get any tracking number or confirmation email from flcham after placing the order? I called Mike and he said he would send out the package 6-7 pm today and would send me a...

New Free Range hybrid set up

I think this is a very good idea! I have thought about getting one of these set up too. Have you seen your cham going back to the cage for water/food/UV and warmth? That is one thing that holds me back from setting up this type of free range.

What's teenage phase like for veiled chameleons?

Thank you for your response. Now at least I have something to look forward to haha. I am not even thinking of handling him right now because it is simply impossible to get my hands near him:eek:
