I placed a new order over the weekend for a few chams, and received this girl and another that looks just like her. They are supposed to be 4-7 inch veilds, which they clearly aren't. Before I ask the seller I was curious if anyone knew just by looking. Perhaps female spiny chams?

Thanks - I dug the poles pretty deep into the ground for the feeding cups. Figured that might give me a little control over feeding while they're in there. Of course there are plenty of native bugs that seem to have no problem finding their way into the enclosure!

This is my new outdoor enclosure: Weekend project that turned into more of a marathon. It's 8x6x3 with aluminum screening and chameleon-safe plants. Substrate is peat moss. I'd appreciate any feedback or suggestions from the group! I'm currently using it to house one of my adult veileds...

I too am building an outdoor enclosure - I'm using PVC pipe and aluminum screens. Mine is probably bigger than it needs to be (8x6x3), and I'll post pictures when it's done. Kudos on the effort to get your panthers some fresh air while it is nice!

For the record, I found the initial reply lighthearted and obviously tongue in cheek. I do appreciate all of the feedback and have taken several poster's advice on treatment. And not worry, although new to the forums, I'm a seasoned attorney so it takes a lot to scare me off!

I don't think she's been supplemented at all, nor has she produced any stool or urate since I've had her. The rest of her body looks perfectly normal. Good coloration, no signs of bone disease, etc. But she's clearly not well. I appreciate the tips - I'm reluctant to rack up vet bills, but...

It's perfectly acceptable to let him have time outside of his cage. It will make them more well-adjusted and overall less inclined to be aggressive. Just let them decide when is the right time (i.e. don't force him out).
