I've had one for about a year now still works fine, besides the fact that the nosseles get plugged up really easy. I mean it's no mist king but I haven't been to disappointed. A LOT of people on here seem to have had bad luck with them though.
i believe Florida is the only state with a law against Dubia. Kinda silly ... but i guess they have had a LOT if non native species invade already lol.
actually they dont smell at all and i clean my colony like every 6mo just... because. Even then it doesn't smell, kinda of amazing when u think how much crickets stink. They are very clean, and since they are a tropical roach they need heat like .. high 80s to "infest". I have had a few escape...
don't be stubborn and overlook the advice given or say you shouldn't have come here just because there are some people on here that are very passionate about chams. No one means to be insulting they just want to make sure your cham lives. But they have given you the facts, which are no a cham...
i have a very mean veiled, hes been that way since day one. I just let him be himself lol he tries to bit me every time i try to even get near him. A few tricks iv learned is keep your hand flat so there's no where he can really get a hold of you even if he does strike at you. Second distract...
it seems to me so many of these sleeping during the day cases are because either people use something like a red night heat light or leave lights on in the room, ect. That beastie looking bulb may be bothering his eyes to since he isnt really sleeping if hes moving around with his eyes closed.
That size cage will be ok iv even heard some say for an adult since Jackson don't get quite as big. Be careful with the fog machine you probably wont even need it in a glass terrarium tbh. (unless u mean a mister like the monsoon, mistking, habbamist, ect) And make sure you have the right...
Welcome to the forums, defiantly check out the site sponsors, they are all the best chameleon related product sites out there. And people aren't just pluging them because they are sponsors, i have done a Ton of searching and can say from experience they are all great.
Finding these forums is...
they also will sometimes go on a bit of a hunger strike when they are shedding or about to so if this was all happening during that time .. that may be it.
my understanding is they need a lot of heat to thrive i keep mine high 80s to 90 and they will eat an entire watermelon in like a week. And breed like crazy, i use one of those ceramic heat bulbs to keep their temps up. those heat mats do next to nothing.
Up their temps you will see a lot...
your gunna want a screen cage 24"x24"x48" seems to be the minimum recommended cage size for a full grown veiled, so you might as well start out with that size and not have to buy another later. That will prob run you about $100 then
a dome light for basking,
a florescent light fixture for...
Technically they would say its a temporary home so they dont feel the need to meet all the requirements, or so iv heard.
Its true the husbandry is just .. wrong, its still way better than iv seen at PetsMart, petco by where i live.
But the real issue is people who buy them assume they are...
Yeah i have to put mine on the screen to get my cham interested in them. Otherwise he pretty much ignores them =/ started with about 100 a year or so ago now i have like 2k and he will hardly ever even eat them .
But they are completely harmless, they need high temps to breed, they cant...
yeah mine used to turn really dark and pace all over the cage bottom when i put him outside.
Had to leave him out there for several prolonged periods before he really got used to it .. but he loves it now.. and tries to bite the crap outa me when i go to bring him in lol
and that...
