Hi All! I had just fed Oliver this morning when I realized he does the funniest little thing right before and after he eats. He will always lick his lips right before he shoots for a bug, and right after he swallows. Maybe all chameleons do this, I'm not sure, but I found it super funny...
You can cup feed, but I find that my cham likes it better when I let his crickets roam. They can nibble on your cham, but its easy to prevent that by removing any leftover crickets before bed time.
Zoo Med
I've never had an LLL cage, but I do have a Zoo Med that I've had almost a year now and I think it is perfectly fine. The only thing i don't like about it is that the bottom (plastic square) isn't the perfect size so dirt gets in the crack and it takes forever to get out. I also like...
Do you mean like a rain dome? I forget who said it, but someone mentioned that they have a Tupperware and just poked holes in the bottom. I tried that and he absolutely hated it.
If you mean just a regular dripper, I use plastic water bottles that I poke a hole in the bottom and it drips...
Cool I'll try and find them. I looked up http://www.lindasgonebuggie.com/ and they seem to have good stuff and good prices so I'll probably try them first.
Awesome. I dont have a scale, but I'll definatly get one.
My current schedule is like this:
6:30am wakeup and take care on cham...
You feed the mulberry leaves right?
And so if I feed them less/ less often will they grow more slowly? do they need their own lighting system?
I dont want to breed them, just have them to feed off
Whoa you guys are replying so quickly I can hardly keep up! :o
I've actually never lost any crickets. Though I do find them completely repulsive. Thats the min reason why I would prefer having dubias
I'll try ordering online. Just a quick question, how long do silk worms last...
This is actually the only reason I want to get an automatic mister. I'm not home for most of the day, so I'm not able to mist him as frequently. I'm completely fine with hand misting; I actually think it's helped me bond with my chameleon. He's not the friendliest, and spraying into his mouth...
Thank you
Since I'm what I call a full time teen (in high school, collage classes, sports, clubs, ect.) I don't have a job to buy a new cage right now, but I'm getting one for Christmas, along with the promise to pay for half of a misting system. I have the other half right now, but my mom...
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Panther chameleon, male, 11 months old. I've had him about 7 months
Handling - Not often, only when necessary. I've been working on it though, and he willingly walked onto my hand about a week ago (but I think it freaked him out)
Feeding - Crickets and super...
I'm no expert on plants but I've taken a few classes at school, and it shouldn't kill the plant. Plants are kind of like goldfish. If you keep the pot small and trim the plant, it should be fine.
Thanks you guys! I'm going to give the tree another day to get some sun and then I'll put it in his cage. I'll try the fishing line thing next weekend when I have time to mess around with it :)
