The timer has a built in battery, so the display in which you speak of is always on, regardless of whether or not it's plugged into an outlet. Perhaps there's something here that I'm not understanding fully.

Is this a joke? I couldn't imagine returning my guy after caring for him and all his buggy friends for 3 years, and replacing him with a new cham. Although, i guess if that's an actual option, people must actually do that.

I'm confused by what you mean by display. Are you referring to the display on the meter? I just know every thing I have tried has resulted in well, nothing... no humming, no vibrating, no nothin'. I am about 80% sure it is the adapter that has failed. i just ordered a new one; I really hope it...

It looks like a beetle that a superworm would have turned into. Perhaps you let a superworm in your cham's cage, and it made it to safety? It's happened with me before, when a superworm found its way into a crevice in bamboo, I just thought what ever :p If you leave a superworm in a container...
