    possible RI?

To me it sounds like it’s much too hot. And from the comments yes it is, basking should be 85 max like the other guy said and at night it should be around 55 degrees, they like it cold and can adapt to night time temp changes. Chameleons will open their mouths to try and cool down.

Odd tiny worms in chameleons plant soil?

So I found these tiny tiny worms wriggling around in the soil of my chameleons plants after I watered them, about 1/2 inch long with what looks like a large disc-like head kind of like a tadpol and a spike at the end of the tail. I can’t find anything matching the description except some tiny...

    Is my chameleon healthy?

hi thanks for responding, I live around the middle of California, and he has plenty of foliage for shade during the day so he never has to be in direct sunlight if he doesn’t want to, he gets a couple insects a month when I take him out, usually flies or pillbugs which I did hear can have...

    Is my chameleon healthy?

So I was just wondering if anyone can tell me if I’m doing an ok job taking care of him(picture below). His name is Ra, like the Egyptian sun god, and he is now a 6 month old male veiled chameleon. Part of the reason I ask is because of his dark purple/black head coloration since I’ve only...

Small black worms found in cockroach container

So I recently got a new batch of dubia roaches and a few days into feeding them the batch I found one of these tiny black furry worms in the container living in one of the cockroach piles that cockroaches form themselves into. I found another one that’s smaller but they look like something that...

    Crazy colors on veiled?

So my veiled chameleon is about 5 or 6 months old, probably closer to 5, and he shed yesterday. It had been a while since I’d taken him out of his cage so I hadn’t taken a close look at him, but when I took him out today he was covered in dull kind of pastel rainbow dots, all the colors of the...

    Two bulbs for chameleon?

I recently got a chameleon, I’ve had him for about 2 weeks he is a 4 month old. The cage I keep him in came was in a set, and part of the set was a 2 bulb socket lamp packaged with a UVA and UVB bulb without heat and a UVA bulb with heat. Is it ok to have them both, since it is technically...

    Do hornworms bite?

Yes, hornworms very much do bite. Press their face into your skin, hold it in between your fingers for a while or just mess with it, it’ll get angry and start nibbling or straight up grasping for dear life with their mandibles onto you, as well as they like to try to stab with their horns, but...
