Try different feeders. i just recently purchased some silkworms and he loves them.. & he can eat alot of them.. you want to try to give him crunchy and soft food.. like crickets/superworms/mealworms (chitin crunchy food) or hornworms silkworms waxworms as soft foods. unless you already do that...
It could be that they hit eachother .. i had 13 hornworms in one cup.. i playd it safe and didnt feed it to my cham.. im not exactly starving on hornworms & money so i played it safe. i did post a pic.
Hey i have my 6 month old panther chameleon,
i usually feed him silk,crickets,supers,mealworms,hornworms.
Today i noticed one of the horn worms had some black coloration on the back of him.. but the hornworm is healthy and alive..
i was wondering if this would be safe to feed my panther...
i use a 100w basking bulb and a 26w 10.0 uvb light for my 4month panther cham
and it works well.. the 100w basking bulb seems a bit too hot though, I had to move mine a bit, 50-75w for basking in my opinion incase you were wondering
I feed my crickets lettuce carrots & citrus, Carrots are good but not all the time.
I was told that carrots contain a substance that actually slows down the calcium breakdown of the cham. Just recently found this out i switched my carrots out & put in oranges and the crickets loved it.
Yes in another thread I was told twice a month.. I dust about 3-4 of them and he ate them.. but I was told to give him calcium no d3 every day but I also try to give him plain crickets.. almost like 50/50..
Also can I use calcium & multivitamins same day? or do they have to be seperate...
Barely does the light come off the top.. but covering the sides should get him to sleep. I'll monitor it.. thanks a lot man been a big help.soon as I get home I'm covering it up!. if anyone else has more ideas that be cool too!
