Same. Never had problems with mine and I have friends who use them as well. This one plugs in too so you don't have to worry about battery life. Of course I keep non-digital thermometers/jygrometers as well in case of power outages so I can still monitor my reptile.

I've been using the Acurite digital thermo/hygro for a long time now in my ball pythons cage. Love it. Gives me two readings on heat and one for humidity. I got mine from Walmart but they're also available on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001BO8CUE
