Happy 23rd Hatch Day CF! 🥳🎂🩷

This forum is such an amazing place, full of kind people who are willing to help others out, all for the shared love of chameleons. It wouldn't be nearly the place it is without Brad and all those dedicated to passing on the information to help out newbies (and experienced keepers!) alike!

Anyone have recommendations for very large enclosures?

I use the DragonStrand cages that are 4x4x3, and my boys all seem to be happy and content. Or, Dale Tamura runs Tamura Designs and he makes custom cages. He's also a long-time chameleon keeper so he knows what they need.

    Adult Chameleons for Adoption

@MrsSantiago, this is an old post and both were adopted. I actually have Herbert and he's living his best life here in FL.

    im struggling...

OP, you've only had her a month, so she''s probably still settling in. Advice above is great, but I might start even slower - I have a chair in my chameleon room that does not face the cages, but instead is perpendicular to it. I bring a book and just read. As they watch you and get more...

    Cham Free roam

As he gets more comfortable he will head for those blinds and shoot straight to the top. They love finding tough spots to "rescue" them from! :ROFLMAO:

Look at this sneaky spider plant

Spider plants are cool and really easy to propigate - they will send out runners at the ends of some of their branches, and those look like little balls of spider plants - you can snip that off and pot it to get a new plant.

What sources, other than the Forums, do you use to talk/learn about chameleons?

I'm old enough on here to mention learning from books (Jewels of the Garden and others like it), as well as the Chameleon Academy podcast, and Petr's FB page. Also I think I'm a member of one other on there but it rarely shows up for me. I try to come on here from time to time, but life just...

    Kitties!

They are beautiful, so glad you were able to open your home to them! What about Bug for the white one (for Love Bug?) I also have a cat that's nearly impossible to get into a carrier, even after having her for almost 10 years so I feel your pain. Good luck with your new additions!

    Vet Transportation…

I've always used a fabric pop-up laundry hamper and zip tied a branch inside. My guys have always just hung out on the ride to the vet (7 hours round trip). The tops of the hampers are always open, so I clothes pin towels to form a lid. Typically we leave in the dark so I have to wake them...

I think my guy is dying, I'm so sad!

I'm so sorry for your loss - you sound like an excellent keeper and should be proud at keeping him alive and thriving for 8 years! It's always tough, but it's the bargain we all make when we take these amazing creatures into our hearts and homes. Rest easy knowing you made the best possible...

    My Heart is Breaking

He was such a sweet boy - I had the privilege of holding him and stroking his cheeks while he fell asleep when he was young, and I'll never forget that.

Petr Necas… Cleaning Eye myth in chameleons …

Wow, I've held this belief for nearly 2 decades and it was my concern when the hobby switched to misting overnight. However, now I understand it and it's just one of the things that makes this forum so fantastic - nearly 20 years in and I'm still learning!
