What sources, other than the Forums, do you use to talk/learn about chameleons?

I'm old enough on here to mention learning from books (Jewels of the Garden and others like it), as well as the Chameleon Academy podcast, and Petr's FB page. Also I think I'm a member of one other on there but it rarely shows up for me. I try to come on here from time to time, but life just...

    Kitties!

They are beautiful, so glad you were able to open your home to them! What about Bug for the white one (for Love Bug?) I also have a cat that's nearly impossible to get into a carrier, even after having her for almost 10 years so I feel your pain. Good luck with your new additions!

    Vet Transportation…

I've always used a fabric pop-up laundry hamper and zip tied a branch inside. My guys have always just hung out on the ride to the vet (7 hours round trip). The tops of the hampers are always open, so I clothes pin towels to form a lid. Typically we leave in the dark so I have to wake them...

I think my guy is dying, I'm so sad!

I'm so sorry for your loss - you sound like an excellent keeper and should be proud at keeping him alive and thriving for 8 years! It's always tough, but it's the bargain we all make when we take these amazing creatures into our hearts and homes. Rest easy knowing you made the best possible...

    My Heart is Breaking

He was such a sweet boy - I had the privilege of holding him and stroking his cheeks while he fell asleep when he was young, and I'll never forget that.

Petr Necas… Cleaning Eye myth in chameleons …

Wow, I've held this belief for nearly 2 decades and it was my concern when the hobby switched to misting overnight. However, now I understand it and it's just one of the things that makes this forum so fantastic - nearly 20 years in and I'm still learning!

    Help traumatic transport

You are doing such a great job - it's a very difficult thing to bring a chameleon back from as far gone as Mr. Blue seemed to be. And you are AMAZING for taking in a surprise cham in such condition. We are all rooting for you and Mr. Blue!

    Surprise Silkies!

Surprise!!! I always keep my silkworm cocoons to hatch and lay eggs, and while I'm good at that they rarely ever hatch. The 2 times they did I was completely in shock - I had to ask my neighbor for a magnifying glass to see them properly! :ROFLMAO:

    Help traumatic transport

I'm wondering if he has dust/sand in his eyes from being in the back of the truck. That might contribute to him keeping them shut. I do agree a vet visit is warranted - please be aware, vets who are exotic vets don't necessarily have chameleon knowledge. When you call ask how many chameleon...

    Our Chameleon Journey

I've been around long enough to remember when Chameleon Academy began, and thought, "what a wonderful resource". Years later and I'm a Stage 3, with my guys in their Dragonstrand cages, still learning new techniques and ways to care for our little tree dragons. Happy almost birthday to one of...

    Sick, Rescued Veiled Girl

You've gotten some wonderful advice from all of these experience keepers. I'm going to just add a couple of things - you had mentioned soaking her when you first got her. Please, never do this to a chameleon. There used to be (years and years ago) advice floating around that they needed to be...
