Let's see some baby set-ups

I'd like to see some pictures of your baby bins or cages. I've seen some glimpses in some posts but would like to see more. I have some babies on the way and know I can always improve on the set-up I've been using. Let's see 'em.

The plastic tubs are what I use for hatchlings. The first pic is recent and I have 19 babies, a month old, spread out in these tubs (4-5 in each) I put an ivy or a small sheflera in with some baked branches from the crape myrtle trees out front. I usually tied the branches together with small zipties and melt the cutoff on the ties with a lighter and swipe it with my finger to prevent sharp edges. keeping the branches as a single unit makes it easy to lift the whole assembly along with the plant onto a towel on the floor to wash out the tub every couple days. They poop alot! Lights are a dual bulb 48" T12 with a reptisun 5.0 and a 6500K bulb for the plants. I use small glad containers for cup feeding pinheads and fruitflies although the friutflies usually wander to the top of the bins. The 2nd pic is actually older. That is what I did for the 6 original babies. Once they reached a larger size, I partitioned off a screen cage to house them individually until I had them all sold. The partitions are foam board from staples. I plan to make a much better setup with drainage in the next couple of weeks to house the current clutch in single cages once they are bigger. I find they can stay in the bins for the first 2 months or so and I have not seen any aggression as long as there are not too many per tub. Make sure you do not leave any ivy or branches close to the top edge of the tub. They will escape if they can reach anything that will allow them to get out! Hope this helps. Feel free to ask me anytime you have questions. I'm deep into baby keeping mode these days!:D

Great info. I also use the same bins. I've seen a little about how people make jungle jims out of bamboo sticks or whatever. I like that idea. Do you use any plastic or silk plants? I really think limiting the number of babies in each bin is the way to go to cut down on the stress levels. I used a window screen to cover the bins to keep the FF's in. It's hard to keep so many babies separated. It takes a lot of space and resources. I like your idea of using foam board to separate them too.

I am in the nice position of having a retired cabinet maker as a next door neighbor who loves to make stuff for me. He made a whole row of wooden and screen cages for me that I have hooked up to my misting system. When I have babies, I put a platform inside one of the adult cages and use a smaller screen cage on the platform for the babies. I will take a pic of one of them later and put it up here.

I am not a breeder and I have a very small house so when my pet chameleons mated and we had babies I had to set up the bins on my dinning room table.
