Jelly poop

I have been noticing my Chams poop is getting very big and it looks almost like there is this jelly coating all around it. it looks white and like normal other than it is noticably bigger and a think jelly coating. Is this normal. I have been feedin him crickets that are dusted. He is 5 months old and apparently healthy.... I hope... any advice>??

If your talking about a clear jelly like coating around the brown part, that can be a sign of parasites. I'm assuming you already know what healthy poop and urates looks like. Be careful to not oversupplement also. Just a very light coating on your feeders. Shouldn't change the color of your feeders in a big way. Hope that helps. David

Is there going to be anyother signs of a parasite other than the poop?? Will it clear up on its own or is it something that I have to have a vet treat. I am going to have surgery tomorrow and wont be able to take him to the vet for 2 weeks! Is he going to be ok??? Is there something that I can get for him in the mean time to help clear it up?? Also, could over supplemeting be a cause also?? He is acting completly normal otherwise. He is eating great and very active... I have been cutting back on the supplementing lately because he was dicharging from his nostrils. How do they get parasites? I keep all my feeder food very clean..:( <<< Worried!!

Someone else with more knowledge of parasites would be able to better help you. Hopefully they will reply. I had a cham that had coccidia and his stools looked like that, kind of slimy and had a very foul odor. Don't think Panacur will help. Coccidia can be very difficult to get rid of and take months. Don't let me get you paranoid here, let others with more knowledge on this reply. I've never had oversupplementing cause unusual poop though. I'm sure he'll be fine. David

I'm talking about what is typically referred to as slimy droppings. This was the indication one of mine had with coccidia. Also had very strong odor.
