Isis turns red!

I was giving the guys their first 'real' shower today to see if they liked it. Well, Isis threw some new red colors at me. I always new she had a little red in her belly, but I had no idea that there was this much! She's always been gray until today. Oddly enough she turned the brightest while she was pooping. :D

Pan hated it, so I just put him back and didn't take any pictures. He was stressed out enough.

Oh? She's about 7 months or so and has only ever shown the green in her cheeks. She's only 2.5-3 inches STV. Her bother was bright green when I picked her out around 4-5 months old.

Isis is gorgeous! I'm not too sure about sexing panthers, but if she is a he, then late bloomers are always more colourful!:D

Judging by the fact that (as you stated) she is normally gray, (typical in juvenile males) and females are normally brown-peachish in color, and sometimes exhibit blues, but not normally (normally) colors like that. To me s/he looks like a male that is just starting to get his colors. any pics of the tail base? and that blue head makes me think male too.

Danny, don't you remember the thread a while back that was a female (mitsio?) that looked even more gorgeous than a male? :)

Hmm, I'll post some more pictures! Man, this season is the season of mis-sexed panthers! :D I suppose if she is a he and he is a late bloomer if would make sense... (S)He is a Sambava...

Sorry if any of them are blurry, I couldn't remember which ones were and I didn't want to delete any. I wanted to be quick :)

the tail base suggests she is a female, but her colors looked rather masculine:rolleyes:

(unless s/hes a really late bloomer and hasn't developed very big...erm....genitals yet, I doubt that highly though.

How can you determine from the tail base whether it is a male/female? I'm just curious for my own knowledge :)

Males have a 'peepee' bulge. As babies, the males have a wider tail base than the females but thats only about 90% accurate until they're a few months old.
