EPIC DRAINAGE FAIL IN OUR HOUSE THIS WEEK!

Noticed a wet patch on the carpet the other day and realised the drainage basin was out of line. Threw some towels on the floor and moved the basin back, job well done, NOT!

The carpet didn't dry so we hired a rug doctor to give it a good clean. We pulled the carpet back to make sure the floor was ok and then we saw the real extent of the problem! Underlay and floor boards absolutely soaked! :(

Today was spent rushing around, buying new underlay, scrubbing floor boards, shampooing the carpet 1,000,000 times over and PRAYING TO THE GREAT CHAMELEON GODS IN THE SKY THAT MY EVIL LANDLADY DOESN'T FIND OUT!!!!!!

Lesson of the day folks - Silicone seal anything chameleon related and keep a keen eye on your drop tray.

Sounds like fun! All in a cham keepers day of work! Sorry you had the trouble, and I hope the evil witch doesn't sniff it out!! :D

I lined the floor of my cham room with those clear plastic floor mat that one would use in an office underneath a rolling office chair. They aren't cheap but it is worth the investment. It looks nice too...

Those mats were discussed at length this afyernoon! Just spent £100 on repairing the damage so they're next in the list :)

I am dealing with the same problem, my mist king timer took a crap. Took it to LLL explained the problem to get try to get it exchanged then the girl reset it and gave it back to me after I explained I wanted a new one. I woke up in the morning and the timer failed again and dumped my entire reservoir on my carpet. So now I purchased an entire new stainless steel shelving system and a dyi drainage system on top of replacing my carpets. I also bought a Hepa filtration system for the smell. Water is no joke. Good luck though, I feel your pain.

Awwww nooo! Sorry to hear that! Kinda glad I don't have a mistking or I'd have probably had to get new underlay and carpets :(

The water here is really clean, until it's soaked into flooring that's older than you :)

Wow. That sux!

I think the worst part about it is that I caught the faulty timer early, drove to LLL then I was denied my return . Then this happened, nothing like the smell of mold through out your entire house. I guess the best part about this is that I have an entirely new set up. The sad thing is that I was saving for an amilobe female, and an ambanja female:( Has to be pushed back.
