ello, a was wonderin wether ma water suply wud be gud enough i have a medium waterfall(which i wud put witamins and stuff in) a misting system(i do not have a clue how long to leave it on through a day) and i will mist it regularly.....dum dum dummmmm so hav u got anythin to say..? pls reply! (thx :) )

Id lose the waterfall.

Bacteria can grow in it, the chameleon will then drink the bacteria...Its just bad news.

Mist systems can be put on timers. Let them run 5 minutes a few times a day

No waterfalls! Misting is where chameleons get their water. They lick the leaves, branches and even the screen, but they do not drink from pools of water.

but i have this liquid vitamin, it has a picture of a gecko on it, i dont no if its suitable for a cham though?

Joe: Just because it has a picture of an animal (which a gecko is nothing like a cham) doesnt mean its suitable. Its marketing.

I agree with everyone else- waterfalls are a big no. They are hazardous in more ways than one. You should take it back to the store.

Also, I wouldn't trust liquid vitamins. It would be way too easy to overdose it. You should only really be using vitamins once a week for a young cham, and once a month or so for an adult. You should get a good calcium supplement without phosphorous and without D3, a calcium without phosphorous and WITH D3, and a good dry dust multivitamin (herptivite by RepCal is good, as is VitAll by MinerAll)

Your misting system should be on a timer. Have it go off at least three times a day for about five minutes.

soooo dust some crickets? once a week?

You can follow the detailed supplement schedule on the raising kitty site. I very lightly dust our young cham's feeders almost daily with Minerall(O). It has no D3. I dust with Minerall(I) about once a week. It does have D3. And with Reptivite about once a week (for their vitamins). THis is for the babies and juveniles. And the dusting is VERY LIGHT. Not coating the bugs.

For more mature chams, then very lightly dusted with Minerall(O) several times a week, Minerall(I) once a week, Reptivite once every 2 weeks.

Except for mature females. When they are in breeding cycle I pretty much supplement their feeders the same as I do for the young chams.

But I also use a home made dry gutload to feed the bugs. This is very important. And the bugs also get water crystals, carrot, apple, romaine lettuce, and potatoes.
