chameleon collection additions!

Hey guys been away for a while now busy with new projects and work. I love chams and started a small collection about 2 years ago. This week I was able to add to my collection of chams with 2 new additions. I choose to get babies this time because in my observation you need to work with this species from a younger age to really get them how you want. Keeping in mind chams don't really like being touched but we all know at times we must handle our reptiles.
Here are some pictures of their new setup and chams.

I have about 20 different reptiles and one reason I love collecting chams is their cages dont take up much space. What I mean is most times the setup is built taller not longer . Example I have 4 chameleon setups here in this space. With glass tanks I would probably only be able to put one 20gal and maybe a 10gal in this same space.

Here are the new babies setup I got it from the same company as the bigger style cage.

I use all real plants for all my reptiles.(money tree)

I went out side and got some small sticks. The way I clean mines is to blast them with water for 10mins. Then I use a clean toothbrush for about 5 mins then water blast again. This method has worked for me.

Here are the chameleons two female one panther and one carpet. I keeped a lot of baby reptiles and I would say chams are the coolest right under a baby monitor.

thanks ...I will look into the toxic umbrella part because I use two types of money trees and I never had any problems. I also got the them from a credible reptile source.

rite on i was always told the drawf an the Schefflera arboricola were ok but that one was toxic. the chams look great by the way..

Thanks I live in nyc and I get them from a chameleon specialist at our local reptile expos. I have his contact if you like to get more info he has all sizes and will make what ever size you need.

yup that price is about right I paid less then that because mines had a burnt tail as a baby from its owner leaving a heat light directly on cage. Over the course of last year and about 5 sheds the tail nip grew back. Now you cant tell his tail was ever burnt. I will try and post a before and after pic.

Aww poor baby. and stupid owner.
If you could post a real good pic of him now thatd be cool.
I really want to a high translucent veield, with lots of the 'freaky' color stuff, so im worried about ordering online and not being able to see the baby.

id ditch the money tree thats the toxic umbrella..

I thought the same thing when I first looked into them, but if its pachira aquatica, which it looks to be, I did a quick Google search which seems to indicate that they are pet safe

camimom- I know he is actually a pretty good chameleon breeder but he said it was a honest mistake. I told him well you should give me a discount which he did. The funny thing was I did not care about the burn anyone who has a reptile with a defect knows it does not change how you feel about your animal or their personality. So when the tail healed on its own it was a great surprise. Ordering offline has its pros and cons I have only ordered frogs and plants offline and some less attractive species like this croc skink where they all look the same basically.

Fresh-- haha like camimom said thats the species not her name but now you mention it that would be a cool name:)

madden-yea this discussion has graced many chameleon forums and has had lots of feedback. I observed 95% to be positive. They have worked great for me. I only buy new trees at reptile expos where the sellers use safe soil and products on plants. If you got a plant or tree from a non-reptile source I would be careful. LLLreptile also has a good supply of chameleon safe plants.

Personally I think it always better to buy in person but in a world of morph's ordering online sometimes is the only way to get what you really want. Also if you are buying from a credible source they should do the right thing.
