I am moving out of the country and need to re-home my Nosy Be, Reggie. He is six. He had an infection in his eye which my vet could not fix quickly enough with antibiotics, and so he's blind in his left eye. He has trouble eating on his own because he doesn't see well, but if you help him, he...
Hi all,
So my chams decided they don't like to eat dubias anymore..Looking to sell my colony. I bought 400 about a year ago, and considering my chams barely eat them, I must have about double by now. Not looking to ship them, unless, of course, someone makes a great offer. Would prefer to...
Hi All,
Just thought I would pass along some jealousy-inducing news. My fiancee and I chose third-world Madagascar as our honeymoon destination, and just booked our trip. We will spend most of our time in the south, so will miss out on places like Ambilobe, Ambanja, Diego Suarez, etc., but we...
Hi everyone,
2 questions:
1) I want to start a dubia colony to feed my 3 male panthers. Anyone have a suggestion on how many and of what size? I was thinking 300 mixed, with a few extra large females and males, so 310 or so. Okay?
2) What should I feed them once I get them? The websites...
Hi all,
I have three adjacent 2.2.4 cages on top of a 6 foot long plastic table, each with one panther in them. I need a drainage system since the mistking goes off three times a day. Does anyone have any suggestions for a simple (and hopefully inexpensive) way to do this?
thanks,
Nate
Attached are pictures of my cham's skin. Large, dark spots on his belly, arm, and tail, all on one side only. My herp vet is a friend of mine. I emailed him pictures and he thinks it might not be a burn, but rather some kind of irritation caused by something in the cage rubbing against it. He...
mistking
Hello,
I have two panthers in adjacent cages. I want to get a mistking. My question is can I buy one system that can mist both cages? or do I need to buy two systems? I think I could run two nozzles, one in either cage, but I'm not sure since I've never had one.
thanks!
I've already asked this on this forum, but please give me your opinion on sex. 6.5 month old ambilobe. For some reason I can't attach, hope this works..
thanks!
Hello,
I bought this 3 month old male ambilobe around a month ago (so he's 4 months now) and he still has no colors beginning to show. I'm looking for the expertise of some of you learned forum members on whether or not you think it's a male. Cheers!
My 3.5 month old nosy be is active and healthy, except that every once in a while he closes one of his eyes. When I get closer to him he opens it and looks at me. Is this a vitamin A deficiency? I dust his crickets with vitamins once a week (beta caroteine). I also gut load his crickets with...
What's the deal with vitamin A and how important is it to give you cham a supplement of it? I recently bought a nosy be from a breeder who swore by its importance.
I bought this supposed blue-bar ambilobe at a show in Pennsylvania in March. The guy told me he was a 3 month old male. Looking back, I realize he was way too small to be 3 months. So by now he is probably six months old. My concern is that he doesn't really show any color and so I think it...
