Plant for eating

My veil has been eating his money tree plant, that's bad luck and the wife says that is a sign of how much he is costing us. I would like to find a healthy option for him to eat, what is the best plant for my chameleon to be eating? We currently have a pothos, money and umbrella tree for free ranging but would like him eating something more nutricious.

Thanks!

p.s It looks like they are re-doing the plant data base here, looks good but I'm not sure its finished yet as I don't see many plants listed anymore.

Depending on your climate hibiscus is a great option. The leaves and flowers are nutritious and veileds tend to love them. However, they don't tend to grow super well indoors so if you live somewhere where you can leave the plant outdoors most of the time and bring it in now and then or have two and rotate them, it'll be better. They need a lot of direct sun, so artificial lights don't really cut it unfortunately.

OK, Thanks! I will keep my eye out for these plants next time I'm at the garden section. I was also thinking of growing some Bok-Choy so I can eat some :D.

I picked up a hibiscus and I have a 6500K compact florescent bulb on top of my screen enclosure and mine has been alive for over a year. It doesn't bloom a lot but it is growing and my veiled loves eating the leaves. I think he eats the buds before they can mature and bloom..My cage does set in front of a large window so I am sure that helps..

Thanks, will do. My chameleon loves the buds, thats the problem with having a lucky money tree when he eats all of the new sprouts. I'm using a 5000kv at 1600 lums bulb and a grow light that will shine directly on it, might be enough to blume some flowers.
