Misting Schedule

Hey everyone. I've been thinking we may be misting our chams too much or too often seeing how we are having a really hard time keeping up with the amount of water our cages have been collecting. We have a MistKing system that is set up on a timer that goes off for 2 mins at 9:00, 1 min at 11:00, 2 mins at 1:00 and follows that pattern until the final misting at 7:00 pm.

If you have a MistKing or some other mist system or hand mist, what is your schedule like?

My mistking schedule was (everyone's living outside while the weather is nice, so just handmisting them for now) 30 mins at 8am and 15 at 5pm, with lights off at 7:30. This meant that there was a lot of water in the cage, but it all drained out through the holes at the bottom of the cage, and what was left had lots of time to evaporate.

I'm of the midset that chameleons do very well with very long showers, to mimic more natural showers in nature. They all usually sit under the spray the entire time it's on, at least in the morning.

I use a mistking system with 2 nozzles and I don't have a drainage system. I have it set to run 6 times a day for 45 seconds to a minute each time, it dries in between every misting and before lights out.

I have a drainage system that collects all the water. My cage is setup on a stand and under that is a big container to catch water. I drilled holes in the bottom middle of the cage so the water goes through. I pour it out as it gets full.

I had posted about how people deal with a lot of water and drainage. The way we have our set up wouldn't really be possible to drill holes and have them drain into buckets.. not to mention the look of having buckets out in the open is not exactly neat and tidy to me lol. And right now in NJ it is so disgustingly humid it's not helping at all! The water just never seems to evaporate from the bottom. We were using paper towels but it was impossible to keep up with changing them. They were getting way too soaked and disgusting before I could change them so I'm trying to see if maybe I use NO paper towels if it would be easier to deal with.

Any other mist schedules would be greatly appreciated!

Its not really buckets its more like a smaller sweater box that does not look bad at all. Works for me but my setup is in a finished basement without anybody going down but me. :)
