Strange animal

Hi everyone, This post is not about Chameleons but I wanted to ask if anyone knows what kind of animal this is. In the Turkish newspaper I found the link it says it is some new animal or at least a very rare animal. But it seems to me I have seen something like this before maybe at a zoo. Anyone seen this before?

looks like a kangoro rat

That creature is known as a Jerboa, found naturally in northern Africa and Asia. Probably not very far from Turkey even.
It's part of the rodent family.

ya, I recognized it as a Jeroboa right away. I don't think i've seem a photo of one in 30 years . THey do look a lot like Gerbils, with larger ears and hind legs

LOL......that rodent looks like a mix of rabbit + Hamster + Kangaroo

The Turkish Paper said it was Rabbit, Mouse, and Kangaroo!!!! LOL I am still looking for the difference between the kangaroo parts and the rabbit parts
