Plant Question!

I just bought a Codiaeum variegatum croton plant....it was on the plant database...i am going to moniter tham to see if they eat it or not......i was just wondering what i have to do to the plant before i actually put it in the tank...like i know i have to wash down all the leaves and stuff......can i put it in the tank with the soil that it came in from home depot..or does it have to be some special kind of soil??? please let me know anything else i shoudl know as well thanks!!!

I'm not a fan of the croton .. although I know a lot of people use them.
I feel the toxicity is too high to gamble with ... especially with a veiled.

im going to just try it and keep a close eye......what do i do to prepare it for the cage tho...like do i need to use special fertilizer before i introduce it to the cage ???? or can i just put it in there right from the tore with what they used?
