feel good about my husbandry

I've always slightly doubted my husbandry because I never have anyone to compare it to in real life - just everyone on the forums.

I finally brought my baby nosy faly to the vet today. We went to Dr. Cecil in La Mesa after I read a few extremely positive reviews about him both on here and on a few other websites. He's not a reptile specialist, but he has owned Jackson's in the past, so he has a good idea of what needs to be done (plus, he is less than a mile from my house).

Anyway, he said my baby looks great, is very active, and he said he was impressed with my attention to detail in my husbandry (for example, I told him all about the "highways" I made in his cage and how the water drops off the leaves in the right pattern to water my umbrella plant). He's testing the fecal sample for me tonight, so hopefully it's pretty clean. He also said that he *thinks* my Nosy is a male, but it's really hard to tell with him, since there's a slight bulge at the sides/base of the tail, where the hemipenes store themselves, but you don't see it from a sideways view...so I dunno. He did say that there are a ton of blues coming in , but females could show some serious color for a bit, too. I'll make a photo heavy post in the photography area in a bit.

After having someone who has such great reviews tell me I'm doing great, my confidence soared. I just felt like bragging a bit and tooting my own horn. Makes me feel good.

Always great to get a fecal done! Could show something way before there are visible signs of a problem. I would definitely find a vet nearby (hopefully) who specializes in reptiles just in case you have an issue that needs special attention. It is always better to have a plan before you have an issue! I am lucky to have a vet about 45 minutes away that specializes in just about everything!!! :) Happy to hear your boy (?) is doing well!
