Drainage for Aluminum cages

ok so everyone is doing it so i will too.
i didnt like the pvc becuase it always had some sort of water left on it.
no matter if it was a drop or more. i used to mess around with it
all the time getting the weight of the plants balanced with rocks so that the
water will still go to the center.
so i tried to get rid of it and i got a stand that would compensate for it.

i bought a rinorack and it was $40 at menards.
its 24''x36''x up to 72''
so you really have two stands here becuase you can make as many racks as
you want.
i took my bottom out of my cage and bought metal screen.
i cit the screen to be about 26''x26''. nothing better then a little over hang.
i put the cage right on the screen and the plants right on the screen.
the screen is there because i dont want any bugs or cham feet to fall threw
the holes. i would like poo to but thats to hard to get by itself.
i then got some extra shower curtain i have for protecting my wall
and i ziptied it to the plastic poles that hold up the cage. put a rock
in the center of the shower curtain with a hole and then presto.
i have no leeks anywhere because it is all cought by the shower curtain.
i can spray any amount i want in there and all the excess will flow right out
threw the screen or out the side with no problem.

the most expensive thing was the rack but i got two or three racks out of
it (depending on the size of the racks) so it was worth it.

Purchase:
Large Cat Litter Pan
2 Cinderblocks

Take out the bottom tray (if there is one) so it is just mesh on the bottom. Set the Cat Litter Pan where the cage will go, place the cinder blocks so that its even with the edge of the litter pan. put the cinder blocks under the spot of your potted plants, everything else leave open for drainage. just poke a hole in the side of the litter pan and use a little container for drainage.

Well I missed posting my pics last night, but better late than never. These pics show the upside down shallow painter bucket with a hole in it's bottom where the nozzle sits inside, the water hits the sides of the bucket and forms a rainshower about 12-13" in diameter. Other pics show the general setup...my other 2 pics are in my previous post, showing the full view and, most importantly, the drain tray.

I just found this thread and I'm looking for a drainage system for Sancho's cage I mist him for 7 minutes 6 times a day and boy it's a lot of water that can't go anywhere any other ideas?

Here's a cage stand and drainage in one shot. Just add a bucket.

Plastic shelf from Lowes/Home Depot $59.99 - enough stands for 6 cages

6 Buckets $24.00

Total $84.00

I didn't have one of those tables, so I used what I already had and raised it up on some bricks and put the collection pan beneath.

I'll admit it isn't beautiful, but it is totally functional.
