Discovering Ardi

Did anyone see the specials "discovering ardi" & "understanding ardi" on the discovery channel? I really enjoyed them. they were pretty interesting to me. I guess thats why i'm a weird 15 year old (well 16 in an hour ).

It's a nice mix of evolution and archeology with few predictions based on little evidence.

Gotta admit, I've been a bit confused by this story recently. Aren't this skeleton, the species, and their link to us old news? I've been stumped as to why it's now all of a sudden "new" but I haven't seen more than a couple minutes of one of the programs from the other night to be fair.

From what I understand they started finding pieces of the skeletons in 1994 but the "dig seasons" are short. Just recently have they finished excavation and cleaning all the pieces. They now have written papers and were publish. So I think now its "official" and "widely excepted".
