Day/night cycles

Drat!! I did a search and found everything but what I wanted!!!

The days are getting shorter here, so I am wondering if now is a good time to change the timers and give them an extra hour to "sleep in"?

Now I am doing a 6 to 6 timer schedule. My guys start queing up on their "sleeping branch" at about 5:30 regardless of how dark or light it is outside!!

yes, you could go with sun up sun down. I feel that if it is dark outside then the cage lights should be off too. That is just my personal opinion and what I do.

I don't know if they need more sleep! 6 seems kinda early to turn out the lights. It cannot be dark outside where you live at 6 is it???

I'm not sure about Maryland but... it gets dark out here at 5 during winter.

I will probably change my light schedule here too when the sun goes down earlier.

I am also of the group who changes the lights with the natural light cycle outside. I make the winter daytime light cycle shorter and the summer daytime light cycle longer.

Were I am, at 6am it is starting to get light.
Inside the house, it's still pretty dark. Buy 7am light is coming in through the windows.

Yeah, I thought 6 was a little early, but they start to turn in at about that time of a little earlier, so it's more based on their sleeping paterns.
