i have a fan on my desk and poppy is sitting where it hits her most, are fans ok for them?

As long as its not to close to the cham and the air is not to hot or too cold it should be fine . Don't leave him unattended with it it can get hurt by the blades .

A fan will dry the cage out faster too, so if humidity is a problem, you will want to block the fan's flow with a sheet or turn it so it doesn't blow directly onto the cage.
